FMX Winner Pastrana Gives One Fan the Shirt Off His Back

She may hale from Alamosa, Colorado, but teenager Laurisa Atencio is a genuine ‘Jersey Girl’ now.

 

After his incredible follow-the-leader victory lap with third place winner Kenny Bartram, Pastrana rolled by the grandstand for a wave to the throngs of appreciative fans. Near the front of the barricades he spotted the winsome 16 year-old, flagging her homemade poster…an homage to all things Pastrana. Among the list of top sponsors she had artfully reproduced, were the rider’s number, and the dedications: “Travis Rocks!” and “Travis Is My #1 Trickster.”

 

In true Prastrana fashion, (and much to the pleasure of his female apprecianaddos,) the magnanimous rider stripped-off his winning Jersey and passed it over to the astounded young lady. If that doesn’t show what a class-act these FMX athletes can be, little else will.

 

As if the competition alone wasn't wasn't payment for her efforts, one grateful fan leaves Denver with a momento she'll cherish for years to come. With a four-hour ride home to Alamosa, Laurisa with have plenty of time to replay that special moment over and over in her head, and pinch herself to make sure the shirt on her back, is real.
