FMX Prelims Bring Winds of Change
Jul 15 2006 / DenverTwenty of the world’s finest FMX competitors brought their bag of tricks to the Right Guard Open here in
Surprisingly, some of the biggest names here would nee
Drake Mcelroyd a second crack at the course. Nate Adams, Ailo Gaup, Mike Massion. For other titans like Ronnie Renner, a secon run would not help. The top 5 scorers from the second heat were added to 7 from the first. The top 7 are as follows:
Travis Pastrana
Mathiew Rebeaud
Ronnie Faisst
Dustin Miller
Jeremy Lusk
Robbie Madison
Kenny Bartram
With the BMX venue deconstructed, the FMX’ers had slightly more room to work with today. Some took advantage of the extra run-in to throw some monster moves that wowed the 1000-plus crowd. Superman variations, kisses of death and lazyboys were all well represented; with saran-wrap, and seat-grab back flips bringing on the big cheers. The stunners came from riders like Ronnie Renner and Drake Mcelroy who’s nearly-inverted tail whips stopped hearts all across the viewing stands. Very cool!
With $75G’s and new Toyota Tacoma Truck on the line, you can bet that the top 12 riders will bring everything they have to the Right Guard Open FMX Finals. For those who didn’t make the leader board, Hubie G.
