Chad Kagy and Kevin Robinson Ignite BMX Best Trick Contest

Aug 05 2006 / Los Angeles, CA

Travis Pastrana's double back flip in FMX Best Trick not enough for you? How about Chad Kagy's flat spin double tail whip or Kevin Robinson's double flair, a monster pair of first-ever BMX Best Trick spectacles?

In a contest that also included Keith McElhinney's just-barely but sick-all-the-same front flip flair, BMX Vert just took a few giant leaps and bounds forward.

After a crazy hard fall from Koji Kraft followed by Robinson sticking his double flair, Simon Tabron put his solid 900 back in his pocket and sat down, and the rest of the field followed suit, leaving McElhinney to keep working on his front flair and Kagy to spend the next 7 minutes cranking up increasingly huge set-up airs as he psyched himself up for the frothy double-whipped flair.

Robinson and Kagy are such good pals that they probably would prefer to call it a tie. So far the judges haven't called a winner, so it could very well come to it.

Shaun White let the buzz get out that he wants a 1080 tonight in Skateboard Best Trick, and now he's going to have to either fulfill or disappoint. How much more history-making can X Games 12 handle?

As always, stay tuned to Lat34.com to find out.
